OUR HISTORY
Our Firm has a long-standing history in the Mankato community that dates back to the 1960’s when Chuck & Janet Morken started Morken, Morken & Co., Chtd. Shortly after joining the firm in 2014, Joel Eckberg became Partner, and the firm became Morken, Eckberg & Co., Chtd.
In late 2016, Joel merged with Steiner Financial LLC of Hutchinson and Winthrop and became a Partner in Morken Eckberg Steiner LLC. Bronson Power joined the firm in 2017 and became a partner in 2018. The Morkens have since retired, and the firm took on the name of Eckberg Steiner Power LLC.
In 2023, after careful thought and consideration for both our clients and team, it was decided that the Mankato location would operate independently from our Hutchinson location as Eckberg Power LLC. Joel Eckberg and Bronson Power remain the sole Partners of the Firm.

Meet Joel T Eckberg, CPA
Joel is a partner at Eckberg Power LLC. He provides tax services, financial statement services, and consulting services to clients in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, construction, retail, personal services, and agriculture.
Joel earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from North Dakota State University in 2007. Joel was raised on a grain and livestock farm near Gaylord, Minnesota. Upon completion of his degree, he joined the Accounting Firm LarsonAllen LLP (later becoming CliftonLarsonAllen LLP) in New Ulm, Minnesota. In 2013, Joel joined a Mankato bank and spent a year as their Credit Manager. In December 2014, Joel joined the Accounting Firm Morken, Morken & Co., Chtd. Joel became a partner shortly after joining the firm and the Firm became Morken, Eckberg & Co., Chtd.
In January 2017, Joel merged with Steiner Financial LLC of Hutchinson and Winthrop and became a partner in Morken Eckberg Steiner LLC with Glen.
Joel’s interests include spending time with his family and friends at the lake, hunting, playing sports with his three boys, and doing other outdoor activities.
Joel is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of CPAs. He is also an active participant in local charitable and community involvement organizations.
Meet Bronson G. Power, CPA, MBA
Bronson is a Partner at Eckberg Power LLC, bringing over 20 years of experience in public accounting and industry expertise to the firm. He specializes in delivering tax, financial statement, and consulting services across diverse sectors, including manufacturing, construction, retail, personal services, and agriculture.
Bronson earned his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Business Management from Luther College in 2003. Following his graduation, he joined the Montgomery, Minnesota-based firm of Michael G. Power, Chartered. In 2008, he joined LarsonAllen LLP (later CliftonLarsonAllen LLP) in New Ulm, Minnesota.
From 2011 to 2016, Bronson served as a Financial Analyst and Operations Manager for Perioperative Services at Mayo Clinic Health System, later advancing to Operations Administrator for Surgical Services. While at Mayo, he pursued his MBA from Minnesota State University, Mankato, further enhancing his financial acumen and leadership skills. He became a Partner at Morken Eckberg Steiner LLC in January 2017, which later evolved into Eckberg Power LLC.
Bronson is an active member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.
